Hospitable.com automates the day-to-day tasks that should be managed by technology, freeing up hosts to deal with only the issues that need a human touch. They start by automating communication with guests from the first inquiry to the final review while you stay in control. Hosts on Airbnb, Booking.com, and Vrbo can leverage their machine-learning systems to answer their guests’ most frequent questions within a minute.

Growing demand meant that Hospitable.com needed to increase the size of its remote team to continue product development and continue with its high-touch customer service wherever its end-users are.

The Challenge

Hospitable.com started as a tool to help a host in Brussels, Pierre-Camille Hamana, rent out 1 spare bedroom. It has grown into a business that has helped thousands of hosts all over the world rent out over 270,000 listings.

Since its inception, Hospitable.com has been fully remote, working with a collaborative, global team to build the product and maintain exceptional customer service. But that global model is not without its challenges when building and hiring a team.

Operating as a nimble organisation on a global basis didn’t warrant a dedicated internal talent acquisition person. This resulted in engagement with transactional recruitment agencies, incentivised by the placement fee rather than cultural team fit and a broader, more comprehensive approach to assessment.

The Solution
Hospitable.com first partnered with immersive on a project basis to fill a variety of roles on the talent, engineering and product teams. Hiring exclusively for Hospitable.com on a dedicated basis allowed immersive’s talent partner to dive deep into the company’s industry, culture, hiring goals, and growth plans to craft a quality-driven recruitment process that worked for them. 

Working at pace, our team quickly established a workflow that worked for the global team and more importantly candidates that were given the opportunity to learn as much as they could about the organisation throughout their hiring process.

The Result
Delivering a short 4-month project in 2022, immersive hired 11 new members to Hospitable.com’s team, ranging from senior product management to customer support.

By taking full ownership of Hospitable’s recruitment process, immersive’s talent partner was able to provide continuous data insights, performance tracking, and more so that Hospitable.com could have a clear overview of its talent ROI.  

What really worked for Hospitable was the immersive’s ability to mirror Hospitable’s globally distributed model of collaboration, directly looking beyond a narrow national horizon and adapting to the time zones Hospitable needed to serve (rather than countries). That flexibility allowed the immersive team to recruit in Australia, the Philippines, Canada and several European countries.
